I had the honor and privilege to sit and "talanoa" with uncle "Superfly" around the tanoa on many occations up at Laie point, LTown. Apart from his huge incredible hulk built, fame and wealth, he was in every way a true Islander...a Fijan Islander. His mannerism, accent and jokes reminded me of my uncle Tim Tuivaga.

The oppoturnity to watch him live in action from his corner with his trainers here at the Blaisdel center was an experience of a lifetime. It was a proud moment to be Fijian when the the announcer introduced him as "The warrior from Fiji"! Superfly rushed into the ring with his "Liku vau" "Vesa" on both arms and ankles, "Bati ni vuaka" around his neck and face painted black and red, a war club in his right hand and a short club "i ula" on the other hand as he did his version of the "Cibi" The Blaisdel went wild and crazy with roars of cheers and screams for Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka... their local hero, a LAIE BOY,and a TRUE FIJIAN!

vina'a re uncle Jimmy for the memories
