Nai uso..a name of a brotherhood of friends who share a deep understanding and appreciation of the ancient ways. They admire the wisdom and teachings of their ancestors, and treasure the knowledge and experience they have aquired throughout the years of performing and showcasing their culture. Na-i- means an object or instrument. Uso...means to stir. It also means brother in Samoan. In this context Nai Uso means to "STIR UP PRIDE" ....good pride in your land, your culture, your people and your herritage. Nai Uso is the "LINK WITHIN THE CIRCLE"

The word or phrase "Nai uso" is used by the legendary firewalkers of Beqa in Fiji. It is a call yelled out by the "bete" or high priest to signify the begining of the ritual.

Jiuta, the leader and priest of the firewalkers of Beqa who visited PCC in 1997, was impressed with the dedication and passion showed by a group of Polynesian boys who danced Fiji at the canoe and nightshow. The bete was blown away by the boys support, hospitality and friendliness showed to the firewalkers during their stay here at Laie. At the end of their visit, the bete gathered the boys in a ceremony and gave them the name "Nai Uso"
